Identity Theft
Thus You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

Jesus said that we, as believers, will be
recognized as such by our fruit. Fruit is the external evidence of
something that has happened in our hearts - namely, salvation. Paul
tells us in Galatians 5:22-23 what the fruit of the Spirit is, leaving
no need to wonder: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,
Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-control.
We know what our identity should be (those things). However, it is often the antithesis of these things that truly identifies us: Hate, Depression, Hostility, Impatience, Cruelty, Wickedness, Unfaithfulness, Harshness and Self-indulgence.
Usually, identity theft is someone else stealing YOUR identity. This series focuses on the fact that WE are the ones who steal OUR OWN identity. It is the constant battle of being a new creation in Christ while battling it out with our sin-nature/Old selves.
Each week, we'll look at what the Bible says about the fruit and it's sinful counterpart (i.e. love/hate).
